This is Inuyasha out in a blizzard all alone. He doesn't have any friend at all. This can either be before he met Kikyo or it can be after Kagome went back to her time, provided that she never came back instead of coming three years later, and after Miroku, Sango,Kirara and Shippo made a family and left to rebuild the slayers village, well Shippo may have gone to the kitsune school. 

Inuyasha is all alone and he is freezing. He couldn't find shelter before the blizzard swept in so that is what he is looking for now. As he is fighting the biting wind and snow he couldn't help but remember back to when he was just a tin pup, nothing had really changed. Everyone still hated him even though he was older. He was still a half-breed and no one wanted a half-breed around. He was just something to get rid off.

The top part is teenage Inu rememebering his child hood, it is a memory of nights spent all alone with no help from anyone.
